What is HugoDate?

HugoDate is live video speed dating for singles looking for connection. You join a hosted event from your phone, go on up to five rounds of 2-minute one-on-one video dates, and mutual matches get their phone numbers exchanged at the end. No swiping, no profiles, no messaging. The whole thing takes about 20 minutes.

How it works

Sign up and you're in
Pick your event and sign up in a couple of minutes. We'll send you the details on how to join. No profile to build! (But you can always tell us more info about who you'd like to meet in your account).

Join the event live
We send you your link to join, just tap it on your phone at event time. I welcome everyone and explain how it all works.

Go on up to 5 dates
2-minute one-on-one video dates with structured questions side-by-side. After each one, tap whether you'd match.

Matches revealed
At the end, mutual matches get phone numbers exchanged. No in-app messaging - matches go straight to real life.

Why HugoDate exists

Dating has become expensive. Days of messaging, £30-80 on a first date, and you still don't know if there's chemistry until you sit down opposite them. More swiping won't fix that.

Who it's for

HugoDate runs hosted video speed dating events. Right now that's Just Men, for gay men aged 21+ (no upper age limit) in London, on Sunday evenings. New weekly dates coming soon. All events are currently free.

I'm Harry. I built HugoDate and I host every event personally. I'm the voice you hear on the night, the one picking the questions, and the one making sure you get matched with people worth meeting. Hugo Events Ltd is registered at Companies House.
